Health officials reported Wednesday that 4 South Carolinians died of covid-19 Tuesday.
3 were elderly. 1 in Beaufort County was middle aged.
No one in Lexington or Richland counties died Tuesday.
The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control announced Wednesday:
- 601 new confirmed cases and 45 new probable cases.
Lexington County had 39 new cases. Richland County had 71.
- 26 additional confirmed deaths and 11 new probable deaths.
- Total confirmed cases to date are 118,699, probable cases 1,804, confirmed deaths 2,652 and 142 probable deaths.

- As of Tuesday, 1,023,083 tests have been conducted in the state.
- 3,063 individual test results were reported Tuesday statewide.
- Of those, 19.6% tested positive as infected.
That means 80.4% tested negative as uninfected.
