Posted

Beginning on Wednesday, Sept.r 9, Lexington County School Districts 1 and  3 will offer free breakfasts and lunches to all students.

The US Department of Agriculture made the decision to allow summer meal program operators to continue serving free meals to all children into the fall.

For students in District 1 in Gilbert, Lexington and Pelion:

All AA and BB students can receive free breakfast and lunch at school on their face-to-face days.

AA and BB students who want to take home meals for their e-learning days must complete a form provided by each school.

For AA elementary students, parents must complete a home meal order form by 9 am each Tuesday.

For BB elementary students, parents must complete a home meal order form by 9 am each Thursday.

AA and BB middle and high school students can complete the form themselves.

The schools will remind students to do this during each day’s morning announcements.

For students in District 3 in Batesbutg-Leesville:

PRIDE model (face-to-face learning 5 days a week) students at B-L Primary and B-L Elementary Schools, this news means that all children have the option of eating breakfast and lunch at their school for free each school day.

Students in the HYBRID model (mixed in-person and virtual learning) at B-L Middle and B-L High Schools will also have the option of eating breakfast and lunch at their school for free on the days that they are there for face-to-face instruction.

In addition, HYBRID model students can pick up 3 days worth of breakfasts and lunches each Wednesday beginning on September 16 at the designated stops listed below.

All VIP students (those completing learning exclusively from home) can also pick up meals at the designated stops listed below each Wednesday beginning on September 16.
VIP students will receive 5 days worth of breakfasts and lunches.

All children under the age of 5 who live in the same household as a Lexington 3 student are also eligible to receive 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches on the pick-up days.

  • Scheduled Stops Each Wednesday (beginning September 16):
