A swimming advisory has been issued for the Lower Saluda River from River's Edge (just downstream of I-26) to the confluence.
Contact recreation (swimming, wading, tubing, paddling) is not recommended in the advisory area. At risk groups, including children, people with compromised immune systems, and people with open wounds, should use extreme caution.
2 of the Midlands Rivers Coalition water quality samples collected yesterday came back above the standard for swimming.
Follow-up sampling is being conducted today, October 31, and those results will be reported tomorrow afternoon.
