If you can believe polls, the latest one in SC shows:
- President Trump leading former VP Joe Biden 51% to 46%.
- Challenger Jaime Harrison leading US Sen Lindsey Graham 47% to 45%.
The latest Morning Consult poll of 926 of 3.49 million registered SC voters claims a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2%.
The poll was conducted Oct. 11 to 20.
Harrison has been spending millions of dollars in out-of-state donations, some of it in the Chronicle and The Fish Wrapper.
The latest SC voter registration count shows Lexington County's 96 precincts have 198,369 registered voters.
The same poll earlier this month gave Graham a 6-point lead during debate over Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
Graham's Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Barrett’s nomination and sent it to the Senate floor for a Monday vote expected to be favorable.
This will give conservative justices an advantage despite Chief Justice John Roberts often aligning with liberal justices.
Graham also had a 6-point lead in a New York Times/Siena College poll.
1 million ballots are expected to be cast before Nov. 3, state election officials estimate.
Morning Consult has a B/C grade for reliability.
