Tornadic winds damaged Red Bank Baptist Church Sunday night.

About 150 adults and children were attending the Sunday evening worship service at the time. They prayed in a hall while the children sang “Jesus Loves Me.”

The SG Emergency Management Division reported more than 8,200 homes and businesses lost power. Only 2,400 were still without power Monday.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported downed trees and water blocking some roads. The National Weather Service sent teams to assess damage.
