The retirement community's Executive Director  Glenn Ferrere said preparation, prevention and care is similar to how they prepare every year for influenza.
1. They have elevated levels of preventative materials, including: N95 and surgical masks, eye protection, hand sanitizers, and disinfectants.
2. Daily screenings of all residents and staff before starting work.
3. All staff has added paid sick leave to ensure against being required to come to work.
 4. All visits by non-essential people have been stopped. Essential visitors are all screened for symptoms prior to entry and wear masks.
5. Team members received additional training.
6. Group activities, events and wellness functions have halted. Wellness and social activities are provided 1-on-1 and through virtual media. Group dining and bar services have been replaced with take-out and delivery to residents’ homes.
