Salute from the Shore comes to Lake Murray

Salute from the Shore announces first year of F-16s flight over Lake Murray on July 4th. The 501(c)3 organization was founded in 2010 by patriotic South Carolinians to honor our armed forces on Independence Day. This year Salute from the Shore is proud to announce that the annual tribute will be highlighted with a flyover of F-16s from the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. In addition to flying the entire South Carolina coast, the F-16s will also perform a salute from the inshore of Lake Murray! The goal is so that South Carolinians unable to make it to the beaches will have an opportunity to participate in the Midlands.

The jets will fly over Spence Island on Lake Murray around 1:45 p.m. on July 4th. Participants at the lake are encouraged to wear and wave red, white and blue during the flyover. If you organize patriotic displays in groups, big and small, share your tributes online for our armed forces around the world to see. Participants can share their videos and images about why they love America and those that protect it online at www.salutefromtheshore.org, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SalutefromtheShore, Twitter at @July4Salute, and Instagram @July4Salute.
