Got an electric car?

Need to recharge in?

The Palmetto Clean Fuels coalition launched its Plug in SC campaign this week at Shealy Electrical Wholesalers in West Columbia which has a recharging station.

The coalition unveiled signs and pavement markings for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Shealy Electrical Wholesalers’ EV station is available to the public and is the first to introduce this here.

The campaign aims to place EV charging stations signs across the state.

As an initiative of the SC Office of Regulatory Staff, PCF wants to increase the use of alternative fuels and advanced technologies.

PCF has found that:

• Consumers are hesitant to buy EVs due to limited recharging stations.

• EV charging stations are often overlooked due to inadequate station and directional signs to them.

Shealy Electrical Wholesalers at 120 Saxe Gotha Rd., West Columbia, is a subsidiary of Border States Electric, a 100% employee-owned company.
