$2.2 trillion Grand Larceny

Posted

We ought to blow the whistle on Washington. What they are doing with our money is a crime.
The President says the bailout will really cost our grandchildren $2.2 trillion – not $2 trillion. That’s another $200 billion on non-China virus pork.
The best news is that this includes money to keep workers and businesses afloat during the pandemic shutdown and may avoid another depression.
At this writing, the bill has billions for emergency supplies to hospitals, to make ventilators for those infected, protection equipment for doctors and nurses and supports research for new therapies, vaccines and a cure.
It also includes money for small businesses crippled by the lockdown. This is not a problem they caused. It is a crisis caused by the government to combat the virus and save lives.
The bill includes $250 billion in $3,400 payments for families earning less than $99,000 a year even if we don’t need it.
If you don’t need the cash, just give it to your favorite charity.
The cash will do little to help an economy shut down by well-intentioned elected officials.
What’s more, the bill pushes unemployment insurance above 100% of the average pay.
That won’t motivate many laid off to go back to work.
The bill will shell out $150 billion to state and local governments with no oversight.
Politicians did what they always do. They shamelessly used a crisis to load it with pork.
The bill includes $75 million for public television and radio, $75 million for the National Endowment for the Arts and $75 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi even got $25 million for virus relief for Washington’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in case the poor thing catches a cold.
This is grand larceny against the American taxpayer. It has nothing to do with the crisis.
If you agree with us about this reckless spending, please let your Congressmen know.
We are open-minded. If you disagree, please let us know at JerryBellune@yahoo.com .
