Brookland-Cayce took a slight fall in the SC Prep Football Media poll following its 41-21 loss to Class 5A 6th ranked Chapin.
The Bearcats moved down 3 spots to 7th in Class 3A just ahead of Lexington.
Brookland-Cayce also learned its annual matchup with archrival Airport has moved for the 2nd time this season. After getting pushed back from Aug. 27 to this Friday due to covid-19 issues with both programs, the game will now be played at 7 pm Thursday in West Columbia.
The top teams in the polls remained the same, led by unanimous Class 5A top-ranked Dutch Fork. The Silver Foxes will play their 1st home game of the season this Friday against Spartanburg.
They will look to extend several winning streaks:
- 53 straight games without a loss
- 52 straight wins against in-state teams
- 27 consecutive home games without a loss
- 26 consecutive home wins over in-state teams
- 12 straight home wins overall
Dutch Fork opened the 2020 season with 3 straight road games to extend its win streak in games played away to 30 in a row.
