Dixie Youth Baseball extends postponement date

Posted

The suspension of the Dixie Youth Baseball season was extended Friday to indefinitely.

Commissioner William Wade sent out a press release which pushed the original postponement date past April 4.

“Based on the recent updates from the CDC, Dixie Youth Baseball strongly advises our leagues to postpone all league activities including practices and scheduled games until further notice,” Wade said. “We urge DYB leagues to follow these guidelines as our country works its way through this historic pandemic in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

“Dixie Youth Baseball also recommends that our local leagues follow the guidance of their local governments, school boards and local health department recommendations before resuming regular season play. We are optimistic about being able to resume play in the next few weeks after we get clarity on the spread of the virus and treatment options.”
