The struggles against South Division teams from the Peach State at home continued Monday for the Lexington County Pancakes.
The latest loss, 15-5 to the Macon Bacon, came 2 days after another 10-run loss to the Savannah Bananas at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. Not only did the Pancakes fall to 0-6 this season to the two South Division Georgia teams, but also to 4-17 the past 2 seasons in Lexington.
Macon (9-6) jumped out to a 8-0 lead through the first 3 1/2 innings against Lexington County starter Brett Fulk.
For the second straight game, a pitcher held the Pancakes hitless through the first 3 innings. Ryan Kouba was untouched until the top 4th when Houston Wright sent a fastball 416 feet over the rightfield wall for a solo home run.
Lexington County also got 2 RBI from Josh Senter of River Bluff High School. It was not enough as the Pancakes were outhit 15-7.
Adding to Lexington County's woes was having the 1st ever cycle take place at the stadium against them. Centerfielder M.J. Rookard out of Middle Georgia State had a single, home run, double and triple in his first 4 at bats.
He reached base two more times on walks and finished with 6 runs scored and 3 RBI.
The two teams meet against Tuesday in Macon, kicking off a 4-day, 4-game road trip for Lexington County (4-7).
