The Gilbert football team crack the Top 5 of the S.C. Prep Media Football poll just 2 days before its Region 5-3A home showdown with 9th ranked Strom Thurmond.
The Indians (6-1, 1-0) moved 2 places to 5th place during their bye week.
In Class 5A, top-ranked and 3-time defending Class 5A champion Dutch Fork (7-0-1, 2-0) and 8th ranked River Bluff (6-1, 0-1) maintained their place in the standings. The Gators travel to Chapin as head coach C. Blair Hardin seeks his 100th career victory.
Lexington (6-1, 1-0) also garnered votes in the Class 5A rankings and travel to Dutch Fork this Friday.
Gray Collegiate also stayed at the 9th position in Class 2A. The War Eagles (4-3, 2-0) face Calhoun County Friday.
