The final home match of the season for Gilbert High School was a second-round contest versus May River in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The two teams split the first two sets before the Lady Indians dominated the final two sets to take a 3-1 win over the Lady Sharks.
Gilbert won the first set 25-16, then fell 25-23 in the second set. The Lady Indians jumped out to a 7-1 lead in set three before winning 25-17 and closing out May River in the fourth set 25-11.
Hannah McDowell led Gilbert (21-3) with 49 assists. Courtney Price had 17 kills, All-State selection Chidera Wilson had 14 kills and Carlee Jones had 10 kills.
Up next for the Lady Indians is a Halloween road matchup at Bishop England.
