It was deja vu time Monday at Wescott Plantation for the Lexington boys’ golf team.

For the 2nd straight week, the Wildcats claimed a tournament title by 1 stroke. A week after edging Chapin for the Region 5-5A title, the Wildcats won the S.C. High School League Class 5A Lower State title by a score 305 to beat out Wando.

Dillon Hite led Lexington with an even par score of 72 to finish in 3rd place overall. Jay Locker placed 7th with a score of 75 to help Chapin (324) place 6th overall in the team standings.

River Bluff shot a 333 to finish 8th overall. Austin Eubanks had the team’s lowest score (77) to finish tied for 13th place.

All 3 teams qualified for the 2-day state championship that starts Monday at the Country Club of Lexington. Having claimed the school's 2nd Lower State, the Wildcats will now seek their 2nd state title and first since 1991.
