“Pancakes” once again got the better of “Bacon” at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

Donning the Lexington County Pancakes’ gear, the Blowfish rallied to defeat the Macon Bacon 9-6. It was the second straight home win for Lexington County, who fell behind 5-0 in the first inning and remained down by five before finishing the game with eight unanswered runs.

Channing Painton ignited the 5-run rally in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single. An error at first base drove home another run to make it 6-3 and C.J. Smith followed with a 2-run single.

Connor Tate tied the game with an RBI single. In the seventh, Patrick Price of Gilbert High School put the Pancackes ahead for good with an RBI single.

Price scored on Cole Tate’s single and Chandler Redmond added an insurance run when it scored off a Bacon error.

Jacob Rye of Gilbert and Cam Tringali of the University of South Carolina threw four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in relief of starter T,.J. Shook. The Dutch Fork High School product gave up six hits and eight hits.

Lexington County (13-22, 5-6) moved into second place with the victory. They can claim a share of first place by defeating South Division leader Savannah this Friday at home and Saturday at Grayson Stadium.

The Bananas routed the Blowfish 18-1 this past Monday, the most lopsided loss since the team arrived in Lexington in 2015.
