All-State long distance runner Ava Grace Fowler of Lexington High School is the latest Lexington Chronicle Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore Lady Wildcat placed first at the annual Lexington County Cross-Country meet on Aug. 30 Her efforts helped Lexington place second overall in the girls behind Dutch Fork.

Last week, she placed fourth at the Bob Jenkins SCTCCCA Coaches Classic at Sandhills Research Center in Columbia. It was the highest finish ever for a Lady Wildcat at the event.
