The 3rd trip to Segra Park yielded a 3rd consecutive win overall for Lexington Post 7 on Tuesday.

Post 7 defeated Camden Post 17 11-3 to improve to 7-3 overall, 4-1 in the S.C. American Baseball Summer League Midlands Division.

After handing Florence Post 1 its 1st loss of the season a night before, Camden jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top 1st. Starter Will Wicker held Post 17 scoreless over his final 3 innings, while Lexington took the lead with 3 runs in the 2nd.

William Chastain scored the 1st of his 3 runs on an error in the Top 4th. Lexington posted another 3-run inning in the 5th to go up 8-3. A bases-clearing double by Travis Elliott of Gilbert helped break the game open.

Lexington answered a run by Camden off reliever Alex Hanson in the bottom 5th with a 4-run rally in the top 6th. Patrick Boyle had a 2-run double and Chastain followed with an RBI double.

Boyle, Chastain and Ricky Williams all had 2 hits and Cam Ferrell also scored 3 runs. Lexington also capitalized off 4 Camden errors which was also the same number of strikeouts posted by Wicker and Hanson.

This was the 1st of two games this week at Segra Park for Lexington. It returns there Thursday to face Chapin/Newberry, a same team it will play host to on Wednesday in a critical divisional matchup.

North Augusta 3, Chapin/Newberry 1

A 2-run rally in the Bottom 6th broke a tie game and enabled North Augusta to remain undefeated in the Midlands Division.

Bryce Medlock tied the game at 1-1 in the top 6th. North Augusta reclaimed the lead after T.J. Greene scored on an error and Tucker Rabun hit an RBI double.

Ellis Hunter struck out 5 batters in 5 innings in a no decision for Chapin/Newberry (1-3).

Both teams return to action in Chronicle Country Wednesday. Chapin/Newberry visits Roscoe Frye Field to face Lexington Post 7 at 7 pm, while North Augusta travels to Midlands Sports Complex to face West Columbia at 8 pm.
