On a day several schools were forced to reschedule games, both Lexington soccer teams were able to complete Region 5-5A contests against Chapin.
In the boys' contest, the Wildcats won 1-0 on a 1st half goal by Sam Pent. Lexington (9-7-1, 4-3) plays host to River Bluff Thursday in a contest which could determine 2nd place in Region 5-5A.
The Gators clinch 2nd place with a victory, while a loss ties them with the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, the loss may have ended Chapin's run of 3 consecutive state title appearances. The Eagles (7-8, 3-5) currently stand in 4th place in Region 5-5A and can only qualify for the Class 5A playoffs with an at-large berth.
They play host to A.C. Flora Friday.
