2 Columbia men arrested for Lexington County murder, attempted armed robbery

Posted

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has made arrests following a June 7 homicide.

Tyrese Dwan Glascho, 24, and Jalin Trevon Jordan, 18, both of Columbia, are accused of shooting their guns in the direction of a man and a woman after an attempted armed robbery in front of a home located between Batesburg-Leesville and Pelion.

Both the man and the woman were shot, with the woman dying from her injuries.

“Detectives have determined the suspects tried to rob the man at about 2 a.m.,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is quoted. “The woman was hit in the upper body and eventually pronounced dead on the scene.”

“The man was shot multiple times and continues to recover at the hospital.”

Both suspects are charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The shooting occurred on the 600 block of Pine Grove Road, off Fairview Road/U.S. Highway 178.

Both suspects were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center following their arrest where they remained as of the morning of June 10. Jordan’s bond has been denied, while the result of Glascho’s bond hearing was still pending.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated.
