This past weekend saw 15 Chronicle Country wrestlers earn medalist honors at the Anderson Civic Center.
There were three first-place winners in Chapin’s Preston White, Pelion’s Charlie Spires and Gilbert’s Colton Travis.
For the first time in school history at Gilbert, a female wrestler earned a medal. Rory Travis won two matches at 145 pounds before falling by decision to Bluffton’s Jada Lawrence to finish in second place.
Up next is the Best Western South Carolina North/South All-Star Wrestling Classic. Gummere, along with Gilbert's Will Stroud, Lexington's Daniel Synder and White Knoll's Dawson Prevatte are among the participants at the event set for March 3-4 in North Myrtle Beach.
