Florence-based Guardian Ambulance has announced the promotion of Jason Herring to vice president of operations.

In this role, Herring will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organization, support team members, strengthen service delivery and advance Guardian Ambulance’s commitment to patient care, the company said in a news release Friday, Oct. 2. He will report to David Abrams, Atlantic Region regional president.

“Jason is a proven leader who brings operational expertise, sound judgment and a genuine commitment to supporting our people and the communities we serve,” said Abrams. “His ability to build strong teams and maintain a steadfast focus on clinical and operational excellence will be invaluable as Guardian Ambulance continues to grow and strengthen its services.”

Herring most recently served as director of operations for Guardian Ambulance after previously serving as operations manager. His EMS career also includes leading 911 ambulance services in Chesterfield County for Medshore Ambulance and serving as a senior paramedic and shift supervisor for FirstHealth of the Carolinas.

Herring was named Employee of the Year at both FirstHealth and Medshore Ambulance. In 2019, he received the Bruce Rogers Award for Outstanding Service and Dedication in Community Service in Chesterfield County.

Herring earned an associate degree in applied science in emergency medical services from Sandhills Community College. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 16 years, Kadee, and their two children, Wallace and Anslee.

Guardian Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, has provided emergency and non-emergency medical transportation to communities across South Carolina since 2019. Headquartered in Florence, the company operates stations in Sumter, Richland, Lexington, Clarendon, Horry and Dillion counties. For more information, visit www.guardian-ambulance.com.
