How to de-stress yourself

Posted

Have you ever been stressed at work?
I have.
It may be from over-working, important meetings or taking stress from your personal life to work.
We all do it.
Last week I had a busy schedule.
A co-worker suggested that we do yoga to de-stress.
After a 10 minute yoga session, we both felt better.
I realized how helpful this could be to stay emotionally and physically balanced.
Yoga has many health benefits, including lessening stress at work. That helps your heart and fights depression.
According to the American Osteopathic Association, yoga helps:
    • increase flexibility.
    • build muscle strength and tone.
    • improve respiration, energy and vitality.
    • maintain a balanced metabolism.
    • reduce weight.
    • cardio and circulatory health.
    • athletic performance.
    • protect us from injury.
As always, make sure to check with your physician before trying any new exercise program.
Next week: Essential oils vs. prescription medicine
