An irmo man died in a structure fire early this morning.
Joel Edward Ferris, 69, died in his home on Waterwood Drive in Irmo around 3 am, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Irmo fire victim identified

An irmo man died in a structure fire early this morning.
Joel Edward Ferris, 69, died in his home on Waterwood Drive in Irmo around 3 am, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
Another occupant of the residence was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation by the Irmo Police Department is ongoing.
