Posted

A Lexington man was arrested on four charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors.

The Attorney General’s Office announced the Dec. 18 arrest of Tracy Scott Springer, 52 of Lexington. He is charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor (third degree), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison on each count.

“Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office, also a member of the state's ICAC Task Force assisted with the investigation,” a release states. “Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Springer. Investigators state Springer possessed files of child sexual abuse material.”

The release emphasizes that “all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”

According to court records, Springer posted a $5,000 personal recognizance bond following his arrest.
