Lexington man arrested in fatal motorcycle collision

A Lexington man was arrested in connection with a fatal collision in Red Bank Friday evening.
Johnathon Ackiss, 36, has been charged with felony driving under the influence, driving with an open container, and simple possession of marijuana, WIS-TV reported.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said the accident happened at the intersection of Platt Springs Road and McLee Road in Red Bank at approximately 5:55 pm.
Galen Manapat, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, according to Fisher. Manapat was travelling east on Platt Springs Road when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn toward McLee Road.  Manapat was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Manapat was pronounced deceased at the scene from his injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Ackiss is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
