A dominant defensive effort in the second half lifted top-ranked Lexington to a 60-37 win over Spring Valley on Dec. 13.
Cam Scott scored 18 points and Javon Prunty had 13 for the Wildcats. Leading 29-27 at halftime, Lexington outscored Spring Valley 11-1 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth quarter.
Up next for Lexington (5-1) is a Dec. 17 matchup against Huntington St. Joseph Prep out of Huntington, West Virginia in The Bash at Ridge View High School.
Te'Andre Summons scored 16 points, Brandon Crawford had 15 and Madden Collins finished with 13 to lead the sixth-ranked Yellow Jackets (6-1).
Up next is a home matchup with in-town rival Dutch Fork Dec. 16.
The two teams meet again Thursday at White Knoll.
Dane Sundell scored 19 points and Drew Kodman added 16 for the Crusaders in the loss.
Maggie Green and Lindsay Garner both scored 10 points and Izzy Saville had seven of her nine points in the fourth quarter to lead the fourth ranked Lady Wildcats.
Jaleya Lytes also scored nine points and Jenna Yanity had five of her eight points in the fourth quarter.
Lexington (8-3) led 31-26 at halftime and extended its lead to 40-32 in the fourth quarter.
Up next for the Lady Wildcats is Dorman in the opening game of the Gold Division bracket of the Christmas Classic in Lexington starting Dec. 17.
Dazejah Lanham scored 17 points and Iyanna Butler 10 as the Lady Tigers edged the Lady Eagles.
Santana Reese scored 21 points and Na’asia Henderson added 10 for Airport.
The Lady Gators evened their mark on the season at 4-4 and next travel to Fort Mill Dec. 15.
