Lexington’s Virginia Hylton Park is ready to play on

Posted

Virginia Hylton Park, located at 111 Maiden Ln. in Lexington behind town hall, is now open again and boasting changes destined to pique local kids’ fun side.

Named after former town council member Virginia Hylton, who served Lexington from 1981 to 1998, the newly renovated community hub now has a new entrance, new playground equipment, walking trails, a splash pad, pavilion and more.

The park first opened in 1991 and it underwent recent upgrades to keep up with an ever-growing Lexington, according to information provided in a press release.

Today, the park is nearly double the size it once was, now 15 acres.
