Michael Green held his version of “Home Run Derby” Wednesday night at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
The Clemson University product belted a stadium-record 3 home runs to lead the Lexington County Blowfish to a 9-0 win over the Fayetteville Swampdogs.
In helping to snap Lexington County’s 5-game overall and 6-game home losing streaks, Green had solo home runs to centerfield in the 1st and 5th innings and a 3rd one to right field in the 8th to contribute 3 RBI.
Ian Jenkins also drove in 3 runs with a home run in the bottom 5th. The run production was more than enough as starter Jared Drayton and reliever Bennett Nance each fanned 6 batters and combined to allow just 5 hits in the victory.
Lexington County (15-27, 8-9) heads on the road Thursday to face the Savannah Bananas. The Blowfish will return home Friday to face the Bananas and close the week Saturday at the Macon Bacon.
