In the battle of the Panthers, Batesburg-Leesville came out victorious in a dominant fashion, shutting out Pelion 35-0. 

Batesburg-Leesville running back Amadre Wooden got the scoring started with a rushing touchdown early in the first quarter and they didn’t let up. Another long touchdown run and a fumble recovered in the end zone quickly extended the lead to 21-0 by halftime. 

Legend Tolen and Tanner Rikard scored rushing touchdowns in the second half to make it 35-0 and round out the scoring for the afternoon. The win brings Batesburg-Leesville’s overall record to 4-5  and their region record to 2-2. They currently sit in fourth place in Region III-2A with a big road game against Saluda coming up Oct. 27 to conclude the regular season. 

For Pelion, the loss drops them to fifth place in the region. Their overall record sits at 3-6 and their region record is now 1-3 after the loss. They’ll conclude their regular season with a game at 6-3 Silver Bluff.
