On April 30, the event’s 21st anniversary, Kid’s Day of Lexington was back in action in Virginia Hylton Park and around the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex on Maiden Lane. Kids participated in activities, and vendors gave out free toys, hats, food, pens, crayons, chalk, coloring pages and more, as the event continued its stated mission to “create community by educating and caring for families with love, honesty and laughter. Lexington County Sheriff's Department bloodhound Autumn was out meeting kids. Mascots were out, including Blowie the Blowfish and Mr. Nosey. Lexington County School District 1 had a table telling kids about healthy foods. The crowd was thick in the morning, but diminished a bit as the heat rose into the 80s, with wagons being pulled around with free water.
