The River Bluff tennis team finished its season in the third round of the SCHSL team playoffs April 29 as the furthest advancing team in Lexington County.
The Gators fell to Wando on the road to finish 13-6 this year. Last week the team earned wins in the first two rounds, beating Cane Bay and Summerville at home.
River Bluff beat Summerville 4-2 to earn its final win of the season. The Gators won four of five singles matches and lost the doubles contest.
Playing in the one slot, Braydon Jeffcoat defeated Lukash Klabnik 6-0, 6-0. Jeffcoat has been a bright spot for the Gators all season and forced his opponent into committing many errors.
Jack Green was on court two and beat Arlen Sumersett 6-1, 6-0. Johnathan Roquemore beat Matthew Siwik 6-2, 6-2.
Charlie Neuner earned the lone singles win for Summerville. He beat Talon McTague 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 in a hard-fought contest between two evenly matched players.
Adriaan Dzinamurombi’s win on court five secured the Gators’ victory. He took care of Evan Simmons 6-0, 6-3.
Only one doubles match was played, which went in Summervilles favor. William Smith and Daniel Epstein defeated Gavin Hartman and George Nesmith 6-1, 3-6, 1-0.
