Seniors picked to soccer All-Star Games

A total of 15 Chronicle Country seniors will play their final high school soccer matches at two All-Star events.

The North-South All-Star Classic is set for June 22-23 at T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson.

The girls’ game will feature Airport’s Heather Turner on the North squad facing a South team assisted by River Bluff head coach K.C. Dunbaker and includes Asha Wallace (River Bluff), Jane Ashley Meredith (Swansea) and Salley Slice and Sara Taylor (both of Chapin).

The boys’ game will follow with Gray Collegiate Academy’s Luis Lopez on the North team and a South roster with five Chronicle Country players - Davis Cassell (Irmo), Andrew Crowley (Gilbert), Grayson Horton (Dutch Fork), Campbell Shealy (Lexington) and Westen Wingard (River Bluff).

A week later, the Clash of the Carolinas will take place June 29-30 in Raleigh, N.C.

Katie Arthur and Anna Remensynder of Chapin will be joined on the South Carolina girls’ team by Mary Katherine Waters and Siera Kirby (both of Lexington) and McKenzie Yandle (White Knoll).

Representing the Palmetto State in the boys’ game are Noah Davis (Gray Collegiate Academy), Cameron Smith (Lexington), Preston Floyd and Jonathan Foster (both of River Bluff).
