Thursday — Feb. 23

Weedeater (concert)
The N.C. stoner-metal band Weedeater performs at New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia). Joining the band for the show are Rebelmatic and Griefleader. Showtime is 7 p.m., and tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Visit newbrooklandtavern.com for more information.

Friday — Feb. 24

Rod Foster (concert)
Guitarist Rod Foster and Company present “The Andre Harrell Tribute” at Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia). Expect to hear hits by Mary J. Blige, Al B. Sure, Jodeci, Heavy D, Guy, Soul For Real, Christopher Williams and other artists that producer Andre Harrell worked with. Showtime is 8 p.m., and tickets are $25. Patrick Davis (concert)
Singer-songwriter Patrick Davis brings his 13-piece ensemble the Midnight Choir to the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo). Davis, who has written hits for Darius Rucker, Jimmy Buffett, Jewel, Morgan Wallen, Lady A, Guy Clark, and Robert Randolph, performs at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $40. Murders & Mysteries
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) serves as the starting point for the Murders & Mysteries walking tour from the Lexington County Museum. This tour is a great way to learn about the history of the town and hear some very interesting stories along the way. Attendees will learn about some of the murders, trials, and other crimes that occurred on Lexington’s Main Street in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Stagbriar (concert)
Columbia indie rock band Stagbriar brings its emotion-rich sound to New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia). The band, led by siblings Emily and Alex McCollum, performs with Persona La Ave and Outerego. Showtime is 7 p.m., and tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Saturday — Feb. 25

Free Tastings
Visit Hollow Creek Distillery and dig into some of their best spirits with its Free Tastings program. Tastings are free during Hollow Creek’s business hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit hollowcreekdistillery.com for more information.

Mardi Gras
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) hosts a Mardi Gras celebration. The brewery will have live music all day (featuring Columbia jazz/R&B great Reggie Sullivan) and will release a new King Cake Sour Beer. There will also be a crawfish boil and beignets. Haywire (concert)

Bad Cash (concert)

Drive-In Movie Night
Saluda Shoals Park (6071 St. Andrews Rd.) hosts a drive-in movie night. Come on out to The Fields at Saluda Shoals Park for a screening of “Top Gun: Maverick.” There will also be food trucks on site. Civil Remedy (concert)
SC trio Civil Remedy performs at Savage Craft Ale Works (430 Center St. in West Columbia). The band will perform a mix of Southern country-rock, ‘90s alternative and ‘70s funk. Escape Room
Gather up your best friends and take part in some teamwork in a Candy Factory Escape Room at the Lexington Main Library (5440 Augusta Rd.). Willy Wonka is looking for new talent to work in his world-famous candy factory. Test your puzzle-solving skills to see if you have what it takes to make it onto his team. “The Mad Ones” (musical)
Trustus Theatre (520 Lady St. in Columbia) opens “The Mad Ones,” a musical directed by Katie Leitner and Robin Gottlieb: “18-year-old Samantha Brown sits in a hand-me-down car with the keys clutched in her hand. Caught between a yearning for the unknown and feeling bound by expectation, she telescopes back to a time before her world has fallen apart. As she relives her senior year, we meet Sam’s well-intentioned helicopter mother Bev and her high school sweetheart of a boyfriend Adam, but it’s her painfully alive best friend Kelly that haunts her.” Show runs Feb. 24-March 18. Legends of ... (concert)
Visit the Koger Center for the Arts (1051 Greene St. in Columbia) for the annual Legends of ... concert, put on by and benefiting the Auntie Karen Foundation, on Feb. 24. This show pays tribute to the great jazz singer Al Jarreau, and features performances by Kirk Whalum, Regina Belle, Chris Walker and Bob James. In Full Effect: A Celebration South Carolina Hip-Hop
The S.C. State Museum (301 Gervais St.) presents a day-long program called In Full Effect: A Celebration South Carolina Hip-Hop on Feb. 25. There will be performances by DJ Kingpin VOV, Dancing On Air, Super Beauty, L Kobie Da Wiz, MIDIMarcum and veteran Columbia emcee FatRat Da Czar. The Electric Light Orchestra Experience (concert)
Enjoy a tribute to one of the most successful rock bands of all time, Electric Light Orchestra, at Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) on Feb. 25. First Thursday
Head over to the Columbia Museum of Art (1515 Main St.) on March 2 for the monthly First Thursdays program. Enjoy free admission and extended hours.
