Friday — Feb. 9

Pinehill Ramblers (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) welcomes the Pinehill Ramblers for a Friday night concert. The group will play a mix of hard-charging bluegrass and classic gospel from 8 to 9 p.m. Admission is a $10 donation. Visit billsmusicshop.com for more information.

Charles Page & Co. (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and Charles Page & Company invite you to “A Night Of Jazzy Grooves.” Page and his band perform hits and classics by Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson, George Duke, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Blackstreet, Santana, Kem, Chaka Khan and more. Civil Remedy (concert)
The popular local rock band Civil Remedy unplugs the amps for a special show at the Carolina Ale House (277 Columbiana Dr. in Columbia). Saturday — Feb. 10

Polar Plunge
Ready to dive in to winter to help a worthy cause? Head over to Lake Murray Public Park (Hwy 6 at Corley Mill Rd.) for the 2024 Lake Murray Polar Plunge, benefiting Special Olympics South Carolina. Proceeds raised go to help provide year-round sports training and competition for Special Olympics athletes. Check-in and registration begin at 10 a.m., there will be a fun costume contest with prizes at 11 a.m., and the Plunge is at 11:30 a.m. Visit so-sc.org for more information.

Valentine’s Day
Celebrate Valentine’s Day a little differently at Craft Axe Throwing (101 E. Main St.). Hurl a few axes to relieve your stress and then grab a couple of adult beverages for a fun, laid-back Valentine’s celebration. Craft Axe Throwing is open from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays. Irmo Chili Cook-Off & Car Show
Organizers promise a “family fun event with vendors prizes, food, chili and cool car to benefit a great cause.” Local teams make chili, you eat it. John Lakin & Friends (concert)
The Harbison Theater at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) welcomes John Lakin & Friends. National recording artist and worship leader Lakin celebrates the rich history of gospel music: “This performance-based experience incorporates established and independent artists who share their unique sound while their enthusiasm about the message resonates beyond the lyrics.” Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $25. Guest instructor Abundant Graze will teach you the art of creating a charcuterie board followed by a DIY wood tray experience, all while guided by the Workshop instructors. No prior skills required. Music Bingo

Jazz Is For Lovers (concert)

The SC Jazz Masterworks ensemble, joined by acclaimed vocalist Roberta Gambarini take you through an evening of classic jazz standards and love songs. Valentine’s Paw Painting

Lexpo
The Lexington Chamber is bringing back its annual business expo for another year. The annual Lexpo event is set to take place again at the Barr Road Sports Complex (213 Barr Rd.): “Lexpo provides an opportunity for more than 90 businesses to network, promote their business, and showcase their products and services to both current shareholders and the general public.” Again includes Flavors of Lexington food area and beer and wine. $2 (free for shareholders). lexingtonsc.org.

An Evening of New York Jazz (concert)
Aiken Senior Life Services (1310 E. Pine Log Rd.) presents a musical fundraiser called An Evening of New York Jazz. Gerry Eisenburg and a trio of New York musicians take you on a tour of classic Big Apple jazz starting at 6 p.m. and running until 7:30 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for both Aiken Senior Life Services and the Aiken Civic Orchestra. Runaway Gin

Ramble Tamble (concert)
Join the Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) and the tribute band Ramble Tamble for a special concert on Feb. 9.
