Friday — June 16

Sunflower Weekend
Clinton Sease Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.) kicks off its Sunflower Weekend. Bring the kids to the farm and pick fresh sunflowers and take photos for keepsakes. The farm will provide flower bags with water, but you will need to bring a bucket or container for your flower bags. No coolers, food or pets. The first day of Sunflower Weekend runs from 5 to 8 p.m,, and admission costs between $12 and $14. The festivities continue June 17-18 and June 23-25. Paul McDonald (concert)
The Nashville Nights concert series at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) rolls on with a performance by singer-songwriter Paul McDonald. McDonald is a storyteller in song with a “raspy yet refined” voice that drives his songs home. Host Michael Haney kicks things off at 6 p.m., and McDonald will follow. This show is free to attend. Off the Dock Block Party

The Market at Icehouse
Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts The Market at Icehouse. The Town of Lexington’s farmers market is intended as a farmer/grower and local artisan market that uses a community-friendly atmosphere to promote, support and encourage local production. Irmo Farmers Market
Bring the family and enjoy a morning and early afternoon of shopping and food at Irmo Community Park (7507 Eastview Dr.) with the Irmo Farmer’s Market. Barrel Release
Hollow Creek Distillery (112 Rocky Ridge Rd. in Leesville) will release its Barrel Proof High Cotton Bourbon and celebrates Father’s Day weekend, with free tastings, Stoney Creek Cigar hand-rolling cigars (including one dipped in High Cotton Bourbon) and food from the Rootin’ Tuten BBQ Truck. Reggaetronic Lake Murray Music Festival
Head over to Lake Murray for the floating Reggaetronic Lake Murray Music Festival. Enjoy performances from Artikal Sound System, MADDS, Of Good Nature, Lefty At The Washout and Mystic Vibrations. Drive-In Movie Night
Grab the kids and head over to Saluda Shoals Park (6071 St. Andrews Rd. in Columbia) for the latest Drive-In Movie Night. Ron Daise (concert)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) presents a performance by Ron Daise. Daise, star of the Nick Jr. television show “Gullah Gullah Island,” performs “Gullah Geechee Heritage: A night of Gullah Geechee poetry, songs and heritage in order to help celebrate Juneteenth.” Showtime is 3:30 p.m., and tickets are $28. Tuesday — June 20

Toucan Tuesday
Toucan Tuesday has returned to Riverbanks Zoo & Garden (500 Wildlife Pkwy.). Guests visiting the zoo will receive buy-one get-one admission to the park and buy-one get-one Icees with a donation of two non-perishable food items for Harvest Hope Food Bank. Spencer Rush (concert)

Lil Nas X Drag Show

Sensory Night
Edventure Children’s Museum (211 Gervais St. in Columbia) presents Sensory Night on June 16. The museum will lower lighting and sound, limit crowd size and have special sensory-friendly programming from educators. Sensory Night runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and is free to attend. Friday Night Laser Lights
The S.C. State Museum (301 Gervais St. in Columbia) hosts its Friday Night Laser Lights series on June 16. Enjoy a full-dome laser planetarium show with a cash bar with craft beer, wine, specialty drinks and non-alcoholic beverages. There will also be food available from the Cheese and Thank You food truck. The laser light show runs from 6 to 10 p.m., and admission is $10. Visit scmuseum.org for more information.

Live in the Lobby
The Koger Center for the Arts (1051 Greene St. in Columbia) continues their Live in the Lobby jazz series on June 16 with a performance by Jenna McSwain. McSwain is a versatile singer and pianist who handles vocal and swing jazz, and she actually called Columbia home before moving to New Orleans a decade ago, hence the show’s name, “From NOLA to Cola.” Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and tickets cost $23 for regular admission, $20 for ColaJazz members and $18 for University of South Carolina faculty and staff and military members. The Boxmasters (concert)
You might not know it, but actor, writer and director Billy Bob Thornton has a side-career as a skilled alt-country/indie-rock singer and songwriter. Thornton’s band, The Boxmasters, play at Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) on June 16. Showtime is 8 p.m., and tickets cost between $45 and $55. Juneteenth Freedom Festival
Join Segra Park (1640 Freed Dr.) on June 19 for the seventh annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival.
