Friday — June 9

Lyn Lapin (concert)
Pop singer-songwriter Lyn Lapin performs at New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia). The singer, who first came to national attention on TikTok, has over 100 million streams on Spotify and is visiting Columbia as part of her to Love in the 21st Century tour. “Much Ado About Nothing” (play)
Get ready for a change-of-pace at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.). Instead of a concert, the amphitheater presents Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” performed by the South Carolina Shakespeare Company and directed by Lina Khoury. Chuck Cannon (concert)
The Nashville Nights concert series rolls on at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) with a performance by country singer-songwriter Chuck Cannon. Cannon is an award-winning songwriter whose tunes have been covered by George Jones, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Wynonna Judd, George Strait and Toby Keith, among many others. The Dirt Road Disciples (concert)

Angry Fish Brewing Co Anniversary Celebration
Lexington brewery Angry Fish (106 Fabrister Ln. Suite C) celebrates five years in businesses with bands (Ryan Harris performs from 12 to 3 p.m., Stillhouse from 3 to 6 p.m. and Joey Williams from 7 to 10 p.m.), Flying Axe throwing, the Tobacco in Tow mobile lounge (starting at 3 p.m.), and, of course, beer — with a few aged beers and other special releases prepared for the occasion. BIA Field Day

Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra (concert)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) hosts a performance by the Lake Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra’s program is called “Concertos & Cupcakes” and will include a cupcake reception after the show. Expect to hear pieces by Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Grieg and Mendelssohn. Taste on the River
The Stone River venue (121 Alexander Rd. in West Columbia) hosts the 7th Annual Taste on the River event. Nashville Songwriters (concert)
The FARM 1780 (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) presents an evening of country, rock and pop music with its Nashville Songwriters event. Enjoy sets from Lewis Brice, Drew Dixon and John Wesley Satterfield, three Nashville singer-songwriters with South Carolina roots. Showtime is 6 p.m., and tickets cost between $79 and $110. Chaunte Wayans (comedy)
Comedian Chaunte Wayans performs at the Comedy House (2768 Decker Blvd. in Columbia) on June 10. Wayans is part of the extended comedic Wayans family and has appeared on the MTV2 series “Wild N’ Out” and in the film “Dance Flick.” She’s performing two shows at the Comedy House, one at 7:30 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost between $29.85 and $40.85. Les Claypool (concert)

Southeastern Piano Festival
The Southeastern Piano Festival kicks off in Columbia on June 11: “For one week every June, the Southeastern Piano Festival transforms the University of South Carolina School of Music and the city of Columbia into a major cultural destination that draws in audiences and young piano talent from across the United States.” The festival takes place at various venues throughout Columbia, including the Koger Center For The Arts (1051 Greene St.) and the USC School Of Music Recital Hall (813 Assembly St.). HOT ROD Power Tour
If you’re a fan of classic cars, you’ll enjoy the HOT ROD Power Tour at the SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr.) on June 13. There will be more than 6,000 cars and trucks of all years, makes and models on display, and there will be events like drag racing, autocross and other live entertainment.
