Friday – March 8

Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute (concert)

The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St.) hosts a performance by Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute. Get ready for an evening of classics like “Dreams,” “Go Your Own Way,” “Tusk,” “You Make Loving Fun,” “Gypsy” and many more, delivered by one of the top tribute bands on the scene. Finding Nemo Jr. (musical)

Grab the kids and head over to the Village Square Theatre (105 Caughman Rd.) for a performance of “Finding Nemo Jr.” Directed by Candice Pipkin, this musical adaptation of the 2003 Pixar movie, “Finding Nemo,” chronicles Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. Wolfman String Band (concert)

Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) presents a performance by the Wolfman String Band. Enjoy an evening of pure bluegrass with a dash of jam band experimentation. Showtime is 8 p.m. and admission is a $10 donation. Visit billsmusicshop.com for more information.

 

Chavonne Campbell (concert)

Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and vocalist ChaVonne Campbell present “A Night Of Soulful Grooves.” Joined by The Tre’Sounds Band, Campbell covers a wide array of artists including Aretha Franklin, Toni Braxton, Prince, Beyonce, Shania Twain, Bruno Mars, Mary J. Saturday – March 9

March For Meals 5K

If you want to challenge yourself physically and give to a worthy cause, you’ll want to head over to Timmerman Trail (1120 Fort Congaree Trl. in Cayce) for the March For Meals 5K. Presented by Strictly Running, this event began with Senior Resources and is now a nationally recognized fundraising event for Meals on Wheels America. In addition to raising additional funds to serve the Richland County seniors in need, this event raises awareness on senior poverty and food instability. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m., the 5K begins at 9 a.m., and there is a Senior Walk starting at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $35 and $20 for the Senior Walk. Shamrock Festival Kid’s Zone

Bring the family to the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) for some kid-friendly pre-St. Patrick’s Day fun. The Shamrock Festival Kids Zone features face painting, balloon animals, bouncy house, a giant slide and an obstacle course. Shamrock Parade

Downtown Lexington hosts the 9th annual Shamrock Parade, presented by Blowfish Baseball. Families can enjoy Irish dancers, live music, floats, pageant winners and even a Mountain Dew drinking Camel as Abraham makes an appearance as the Redeemed Band performs on Main Street. Sunday – March 10

Cruise In & Cookout

Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) hosts a Cruise In & Cookout. Come see hotrods, classics, muscle cars and more for Steel Hands’ first cruise-in of 2024. Tuesday – March 12

Family Fun Night

Thursday – March 14

Meeting St. Artisan Market

The Interactive Arts Park (425 Meeting St. in West Columbia) hosts the Meeting St. Artisan Market. The market includes vendors selling original art, crafts, foods and produce. Support local vendors, interact with the unique sculptures throughout the park, and then head to State and Meeting Streets, and Court Avenue to continue shopping and dining. Ashes & Arrows (concert)

The passionate Americana acoustic trio, Ashes & Arrows, performs at the Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) on Friday, March 8. The trio met at an open mic in downtown Asheville in 2021 and immediately found the inspiration to write and perform music as a band. Drawing inspiration from the likes of NEEDTODBREATHE, Jason Isbell and Patrick Droney, Ashes & Arrows also weaves strong three-part harmonies into their songs. Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets are $25. Ribfest

If you’re a fan of ribs, you’ll want to check out the Doko Ribfest at Doko Meadows Park (100 Alvina Hagood Cir. in Blythewood) on Saturday, March 9. The Ribfest, presented by the Blythewood Chamber of Commerce, this event features an exciting rib cook off, food, beer, beverages, live music and much more. Slow Fiction (concert)

The New Brookland Tavern (632 Harden St. in Columbia) welcomes the passionate and melodic Brooklyn, New York indie-rock band, Slow Fiction, on Saturday, March 9. Cottontown Art Crawl

The Cottontown Bellview Historic District hosts the Cottontown Art Crawl on Saturday, March 10. This event brings over 200 different artists and entertainers to the streets and classic bungalows of a historic Columbia neighborhood. Prettier Than Matt (concert)
