A 26 year-old White Knoll High School math teacher faces charges after allegedly attempting to solicit a 14-year-old girl.
Timothy Cole Garrison, 26 of Lexington, was arrested Feb. 9 and is charged with criminal exploitation of a minor after being accused of talking to the girl through social media channels.
According to a provided arrest warrant, around Nov. 8, 2023, Garrison knowingly communicated with someone under the age of 18 for the purpose or with the intent of “persuading inducing, enticing or coercing the person to engage in sexual activity.”
The warrant states that Garrison communicated with the 14-year old through Bumble, an online dating and networking site, and Kik, a messaging application.
“During the communication the subject asked if the 14-year-old liked “being ate out” and discussed engaging in cunnilingus with her,” the warrant states.
According to Lexington County School District 1, as of Feb. 13, Garrison is no longer employed by the district.
“We have no indication that the charges are connected to any Lexington 1 students,” the district said following Garrison’s arrest. “The teacher has been placed on administrative leave, and district and school officials are cooperating fully with law enforcement.”
On Feb. 9, Garrison received a $5,000 surety bond, and according to the Lexington County Detention Center website, is not currently in custody.
This is a developing story and will continue to be updated.
