He finished with a game-high 12 points.
W.W. King Academy tied the game early in the fourth quarter. Faith Christian reclaimed the lead and managed to run out the remaining minutes.
Oman Johnsonn led Faith Christian with 11 points. It will face Richard Winn for the title at noon Feb. 25 at the Sumter Exhibition Center.
W.J. Keenan star Fulwiley’s
status uncertain for third
meeting with Gray Collegiate
Gray Collegiate Academy may head into its first-ever Class 2A Upper State final contest facing an underhanded W.J. Keenan team.
Reports from Columbia indicate All-State Class 2A Player of the Year Malaysia Fulwiley will most likely sit out the third meeting between the two schools. She reportedly suffered a calf injury in the third-round win against Silver Bluff and did not play in the fourth quarter.
Head coach Reggie McClain told The State McLain said he’s waiting on MRI results to determine her availability for both the Upper State and possibly the state final.
With Fuliwiley, the Lady Raiders are 6-0 all-time against the Lady War Eagles. This includes the two meetings this season in which Fulwiley averaged 25 points.
The game is set for noon at Bob Jones University in Greenville. It will be followed by a third meeting at 2 p.m. between the two schools’ boys teams for the Class 2A Upper State title.
