Students in 2 Lexington school districts will start earlier than others.
All classes in:
• Lexington 2 in the Cayce-West Columbia area and in Lexington 3 in Batesburg-Leesville will start Monday, August 19.
• Lexington 1 in the Lexington,River Bluff, White Knoll, Gilbert and Pelion areas and Lexington 4 in Gaston and Swansea start Tuesday, August 20.
• Classes in Lexington-Richland 5 in Ballentine, Chapin, Dutch Fork and Irmo start Wednesday, August 21.
Schools by law must schedule 190 days of classes to allow for emergency makeup days.

Parents or guardians of children 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 may apply to have their child screened for 4-year-old kindergarten. Check your district for dates.
