Airport picked up a win in the first round of the S.C. High School playoffs Friday at home.
The Eagles defeated Colleton County 21-14 to advance to the 2nd round. They now move on to play at Lower Richland next week in Round 2.
The Diamond-Hornets defeated Marlboro County 20-14 at home Friday.
Colleton County was the road team, but made themselves at home in the first quarter versus the Eagles. The Cougars got on the board first to take a 7-0 lead in the opening quarter.
Airport responded with a touchdown in the second quarter, and that closed out the scoring for both teams in the first half.
The Eagles (8-3) added another touchdown in the third quarter for a 14-7 lead. The Cougars answered with a touchdown to tie it at 14 in the 4th quarter. Airport was able to take the lead and held on in the end for the win.
