Identity of Lexington County deputy shooting released

Deputy is home recovering

A Lexington County man was taken into custody by police early Sunday morning.
Lexington County Sheriff's deputies and state law enforcement were negotiating wih a shooter in the Manchester Park subdivision off Old Barnwell Road Saturday and into Sunday.
A deputy was shot in the upper body but has been treated and released from the hospital.
The Sheriff's Department said it happened at 4:30 pm Saturday. The man barricaded himself in the home but was arrested nearly 10 hours later with no further violence, the sheriff's department reported at 3:30 am.
A woman and her husband got into a fight Saturday and she was able to run to a neighbor for help.
The suspect has been identified by the SC Law Enforcemnt Divsion as Mark Louis Cote, 70.
