There wasn’t much movement involving Chronicle Country football teams this week. However, both Lexington and White Knoll move up one spot after opening region play with impressive wins.
The Chapin Eagles came to Lexington for the opening game of both teams’ region schedule Sept. 29, but couldn’t come out with a win as the Wildcats outlasted them in a back and forth game that was close for most of the night and eventually decided on a handful of big plays, 22-14.
It was total domination on both sides of the ball for White Knoll as the Timberwolves prowled into River Bluff’s home and devoured the Gators 40-0 Sept. 29.
The Irmo Yellow Jackets and quarterback A.J. Brand made a significant statement in their dominant 63-8 win over Richland Northeast Sept. 29.
Before he got to White Knoll, the school’s head football coach did a lot of winning.
Going into the seventh week of football action in South Carolina, region play is set to begin across the state.
