Two men have been arrested for a 2021 shooting that took place during a robbery.

Khartae Tyuan Bethel, 20, and Darreun Hampton Miller, 19, stand accused of shooting into a house during an armed robbery in 2021.

“We arrested Bethel’s and Miller’s two other co-defendants shortly after the December 2021 shooting that happened during a planned and targeted robbery,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is quoted in a release. “Detectives have continued to work on this case and just recently identified Bethel and Miller as a result of victim and witness statements.”

The incident occurred late in the night in the Lexington Hills neighborhood south of Red Bank.

According to a release, Bethel and Miller were arrested July 15 and 19, respectively.

According to the release, the suspects fired several shots into the home then fled the scene.

The release states that one woman who suffered a gunshot wound has made a full recovery.

Following their arrests, Bethel and Miller were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. Bethel was denied bond, while the result of Miller’s bond hearing is still pending.

The release states that they are each charged with two counts of attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery, plus single charges of discharging a weapon into a dwelling and criminal conspiracy.

“The kidnapping charges in this case stem from the co-defendants allegedly restricting the movement of two victims at a home on Double Eagle Drive,” Koon is quoted “One of the victims was held at gunpoint in the front yard, based on information gathered by investigators.”

Bethel and Miller’s co-defendants, Stephen Reese Clifton and Tekhi Augustus Jones, both 18 at the time of their arrest, were charged with two counts of kidnapping and attempted robbery, as well as single charges of conspiracy and discharging firearms into a dwelling.

Clifton and Jones’ cases are pending. They were released on bond in December 2021 and September 2022, respectively, according to court records.
