With the South Carolina High School Sports League allowing the use of 35-second shot clocks in certain invitationals, one local tournament has installed them on top of the backboards for use during its annual event.
The Cayce Roundball Classic, held at Brookland-Cayce High School in December, announced on Twitter that they have installed shot clocks on the backboards and will use the 35-second shot clock during the event. The tournament is scheduled to take place Dec. 19-22 this year with the participants yet to be announced.
This year will be the second year a shot clock will be allowed during invitationals and non-playoff games. The High School League won't vote on the full-time implementation of the shot clock in 2024 at the earliest.
