After two weeks, the Lexington County Blowfish have earned acclaim. Adjectives like “resilient”, “resolute” and “scrappy” best describe the team’s play through 10 games in the Coastal Plain League regular season.
Five of the games have been decided by two or less runs.
The Blowfish have four victories in which they pulled ahead with a ninth-inning rally.
The latest occurred Saturday at Grayson Stadium against the Savannah Bananas. Just two nights earlier, the Blowfish appeared to have victory sealed late, only to have the Bananas tie the game in the ninth and pull ahead in the 10th for the 9-8 win.
