River Bluff is headed to the Tip of the Dam final after a 60-40 win over Spring Valley Tuesday in The Swamp.
Landon Stills had a game-high 17 points and Malachi Reeves added 11 to lead the Gators. Reeves is the lone returning player from last year’s team which set a school record for victories.
“We had a lot of questions coming in,” River Bluff head coach Benjamin Lee said. “Yesterday, Silver Bluff came in and it was tough. We knew with Spring Valley today they were going to be gutsy. So, we’re still learning about (this year’s team), but I think today was a good step in the positive direction.”
After Lee encouraged his team to play with more hustle and urgency, River Bluff broke the game open in the 2nd half by outscoring the Vikings 18-6. The Gators stretched their lead as many as 20 points at the final buzzer on a breakaway slam dunk by Myles Jenkins.
River Bluff will face South Aiken in the 7:30 pm final at Chapin High School.
