The 2020 season ended on a winning note for the Lexington County Blowfish.
Playing before a festive audience, the Blowfish defeated Savannah 6-3 to end the season 23-13 overall, 8-10 in the Southern Standings and 5-4 in the 2nd half of the season in the Southern Summer Ball Series.
Zachary Iverson drove in 3 runs to lead the Blowfish, including a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 1st. Jack Cucinnata had 2 RBI and Lexington High graduate Jared Kirven of the College of Charleston had an RBI.
Will Abbott started the contest and pitched 3 innings. He was relieved by William Westbrock, P. Dawkins and Noah Moody.
Following the contest, the Blowfish held its 1st fireworks show of the season. During the game, the team honored PFC Gerald White as part of the Military Family of the Night ceremony. White was a World War 2 veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
