A Lexington man accused of distributing child sexual abuse materials has been arrested.

Brantley Walter Clarke, 43, currently faces one charge connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a release.

The release states that the Lexington County Sheriff's department and investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, which rallies the task force, assisted in the investigation.

According to the release, investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which lead them to Clarke, who is accused of distributing files of child sexual abuse material.

The release states Clarke was arrested July 14 and has been charged with one count of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

According to the release, the case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
